Hailing from the Midlands, England, Max moved to London to complete his undergraduate studies in history and law. During this time, he undertook a mini-pupillage at a barristers’ chambers and volunteered on several pro bono initiatives, including housing, family, and employment law clinics. Alongside his studies, Max was actively involved in student journalism and freelance writing and editing projects, primarily focused on legal topics. He also worked part-time as a content writer for a legal education company. Ultimately, these experiences led him to pursue a professional qualification in journalism.

After qualifying, Max completed internships at a local South London newspaper and a hospitality-focused news group. He now works as a freelance content writer and copy editor. His recent experience includes contributing to Indeed’s International Career Guide campaign, where he wrote and edited employment-related content for multiple markets, including the United Kingdom, the United States, Singapore, India, Hong Kong, and Australia. He has also worked as a copy editor for a London-based agency, editing a range of documents for individuals and businesses. Currently, Max also serves as an English editor at MDPI, an international open-access publishing house, where he reviews scientific manuscripts for clarity, consistency, and grammatical accuracy. 

Max has worked for Law Quill for more than three years. Drawing on his academic background and professional experience, he consistently delivers clear, accurate, reader-friendly, and SEO-optimized content.

Outside of work, Max enjoys pub quizzes, running, playing squash, board game nights with friends, live music, films, traveling, reading, and playing the guitar. Max is planning to move to Brighton, on the southern coast of England, later this year and is looking forward to frequent swimming in the English Channel. His favorite book is On the Road by Jack Kerouac, which encouraged him to do several lengthy solo travel trips, including in Europe and Southeast Asia. Recently, he has taken an interest in 3D printing and electronics projects, including renovating an old commercial espresso machine and adding smart features to it.
