Hello, and welcome to the very first show of the Legal Marketing Lounge. I am super excited that you decided to join me on this podcast. I’m Annette Choti. And I will be hosting the Legal Marketing Lounge. And this first episode is just a little bit of an introduction to what the show is going to be about who it’s for who I am, and what’s coming up in the future to really help you gain more online visibility and more traffic and more clients for your small or solo law firm.
So what is this show about? It is going to be about everything that relates to online digital marketing for your law firm. So that’s going to include things like SEO, which is search engine optimization, it’s going to include content marketing, about writing for your website, for your smaller solo law firms website, it’s going to be about digital marketing as a whole, your web design, Google’s algorithm, Google My Business, Google reviews, social media marketing, email marketing, advertising, pay per click branding, overall marketing strategies, even technology. So we are going to be doing really deep dives into a lot of this.
But my goal with this podcast is to demystify all of this digital marketing, so that you the small or solo law practitioner, can really take these tools away, and start using them to grow your practice. So who should listen to this show, if you are a lawyer, that is either just starting out your law firm, or you have a solo practice, or you even have a small practice, maybe you have one location, or just maybe two or three locations, and you are not ready to spend 15 or $20,000 yet on digital marketing, and you feel you want to do some of this yourself, or at least understand it. So that when you’re hiring a digital marketing agency to do some of this for you, you can at least know what they are trying to sell you what they’re talking about, and whether or not they’re actual efforts that they are putting into your marketing is working through different data analytics. So we’re gonna just be diving into all of this.
At the end of every episode, I’m going to give you some actual practical tips that you can take away from the episode and put into practice. So this is a very hands on show, I really want this to be something where you have a little fun listening to it, I hope, but also that you really gain some knowledge that you didn’t have at the beginning. That is practical boots on the ground rubber hits the road, this is the stuff that you can actually do to get a quick win for your website that will produce results either immediately or over time. So those are the things that are coming.
Before we go any further, I probably should tell you a little bit about me. My name is Annette of course. And I am the President of Law Quill, which is a legal marketing agency. I graduated from law school 20 years ago and I worked for the federal government for almost two decades, when I decided that that was not what I wanted to do anymore. So I started several years ago working for very large digital marketing agencies and that was where I learned everything regarding SEO, digital marketing, advertising, organic traffic, social media strategies, technology, the whole thing. And I loved it, I, it absolutely became my joy to do these things.
But I realized as I was writing content and and doing SEO for law firms that really, I was just a cog in a very large machine working for very large law firms. And I really began to develop this passion to help small and solo law firms. And so I marinated in that for a really long time, because I wanted to develop some strategies in order to truly help them compete with the large law firms and the marketing of large digital marketing agencies.
After I felt like I had sat with those ideas for long enough, I developed a digital marketing agency of my own called Law Quill!
And just a little bit more about me, I am a Christian, I’m a follower of Christ, I have a wonderful husband and daughter, and I live in the Midwest. And I actually went to undergraduate for Political Science and International Relations. And then I went on to get a graduate in theater and did some professional comedy. So that’s something that usually surprises people, eventually, I went to law school. And let’s be honest, the practice of law and professional, it’s not too different, right, professional comedy, and law. So that’s a little bit about me. And I just really love what I do.
Now, I have had the honor to be nationally published in USA Today, and Market Watch. And on the Today Show online, I am also a weekly contributor to Above The Law online, as well as a monthly contributor to Attorney At Work. So you can find all of my articles there. And I also have Law Quill, where I have a blog that has a lot of answers to a lot of digital marketing questions.
