Law Quill: A Concierge Legal Marketing Agency

Dr. Sarah Carpenter
Senior Legal Content Writer

Dr. Sarah Carpenter holds a B.A. degree with a dual major in Professional Writing and Spanish from the University of North Alabama (2006). She has an M.A. in Spanish: Applied Linguistics from the University of Alabama (2008), where she developed an interest in the social dimensions of language use, and an M.A. in Folklore from the University of Oregon (2011), where her Master’s thesis was a digital ethnography. She received her Ph.D. in Cultural Studies from George Mason University (2020), where her dissertation proposed a new framework for understanding the complex interactions by which digital technology and contemporary culture inform, transform, and reform each other.

Sarah never met a piece of paper she didn’t want, so at this point she has made a hobby of collecting certificates in social media and marketing topics, most recently with an SEO course through SEMRush.

Sarah has worked as a digital engagement specialist for multiple nonprofit organizations, has consulted on local political campaigns, and spent two years as the communications director for an online real estate school. From 2021-2024 she served on her city’s Redevelopment Authority, a civil service board aimed at improving local business infrastructure and cultural opportunity.

A former college English instructor, when Sarah is not mining comment threads for linguistic samples or wading through reams of legal research she enjoys taking running from her problems a little too literally. Pick up the pace and you just might catch her on en route to her next half-marathon!
